The project “Recycling Multicolor and Multimaterial Thermoplastic Wastes from 3D Printing” was funded through Research Enhancement Program (REP) by UTA. PI: Dr. Yang; Co-PI: Dr. Hong (Bioengineering Department). Project period: from June 1, 2020 through Aug. 31, 2021. Award amount: $14,938.
This project will aim to develop a novel waste recycling system to be used for thermoplastic wastes that are generated from additive manufacturing (AM), which will greatly aid the closed-loop material flows in AM and hence enhance the material usage efficiency. The results of this research will/have been used as preliminary work and incorporated into multiple federally funded proposals.
