IE 3301 Engineering Probability (Fall 2020, Fall 2019)

This course covers topics in engineering that involve and have applications in random processes, reliability, inventory systems, and queuing problems, including absolute and conditional probabilities, discrete and continuous random variables, parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, and an introduction to linear regression.


IE 4345 Decision Analysis in Systems Design (Spring 2020, Spring 2021, Spring 2022)

This course covers applications of decision theory principles and tools to evaluate alternative hardware/software system architectures based on technical design requirements such as mass, reliability, power and life cycle costs. Systems engineering trade study (or decision analysis) approaches are presented with applications/case studies in advanced manufacturing, medical, aerospace, and related areas. Methodologies for dealing with different real-life decision-making scenarios are presented, including risk and uncertainty, multiple objectives, multiple decision makers, etc. 


DAS 5302 Decision Analysis in Systems Design (Spring 2022)

Topics include descriptive statistics, set theory, combinatorics, mathematical expectation, probability distributions, confidence interval estimation, regression analysis, analysis of variance, and design of experiments.
