Dr. Yang received the Department of Energy (DOE) Award on “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Engineering” as an Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) Alumni, 2022. She worked as a student investigator at DOE IAC in Chicago from 2015-2019.

The research project on additive manufacturing waste recycling was financially supported under Waters Corporation’s Academic Research Support Program (PI: Dr. Yang). New collaboration opportunities are being explored with the Material Science Team at Waters.
Two projects were funded through Research Experiences for Undergraduate (REU): 1. “Recycling and Reusing ABS Wastes from 3D Printing” (PI: Yang; Co-PI: Dr. Hong from Bioengineering Department); 2. “Topology Optimization of 3D Printed Ti6Al4V Aircraft Wings with Less Material Use” (PI: Yang; Co-PI: Dr. Shayesteh from Mechanical Engineering).
